For 30 some years I have launched new initiatives and taken current organizations in new directions in business, not-for-profits and academia. I’ve been an executive director, entrepreneur, teacher, fundraiser, executive consultant, speech writer, trendbender and journalist. I’ve helped organizations develop and deliver dozens of programs and events, built the global visibility of the MIT Sloan School, helped raised millions in start-up funds and capital campaigns, increased membership and boosted volunteer engagement for non-profits.
I excel at helping people and enterprises make sense of a changing world, clarify their challenges, and spark creative ways to address them. A colleague likens me to a helicopter: I have a keen ability to see and shape the big picture, translate it into action, and be able to drop down on the ground to put team and resources in place.
Most jobs I take on start with the idea – What we’re doing isn’t working; we have to come up with a new way of solving this problem.
To spark my thinking, I have ongoing conversations with donors and thought leaders from foundations, academia, NGOs and nonprofits across the country. The findings fuel my work in strategy, innovation and fundraising.
